HP White Paper: Results of Evaluating GoldenGate for Dynamic Database Migrations
Abstract: This white paper produced by HP in October 2006 examines GoldenGate Software's Transactional Data Management (TDM) for its suitability for availability improvements during dynamic Oracle 9i database migrations from Tru64 UNIX on Alpha systems to HP-UX on Integrity systems.
Many customers cannot tolerate the length of downtime (where the database is offline and unavailable for application users and transactions) required for a total static database migration, and this paper addresses those related issues.
