GoldenGate Software Appoints Ali Kutay President and CEO

Former CEO of Application Server Pioneer WebLogic to Lead GoldenGate

San Francisco, Calif. - June 7, 2004 - GoldenGate Software, Inc. (www.goldengate.com) today announced the appointment of Ali Kutay as president and chief executive officer. Kutay was previously president and CEO at WebLogic, Inc. (merged with BEA Systems) and was most recently founder, president and CEO at AltoWeb, Inc.

Previously Kutay was the chairman, founder and CEO of AltoWeb, Inc., a provider of e-business infrastructure software. Prior to AltoWeb, Kutay was a director, president and CEO of WebLogic, Inc., the company that pioneered the Application Server technology which became one of the major building blocks of web-enabled applications. WebLogic merged with BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:BEAS) in 1998 forming one of the major infrastructure software providers in the industry. Prior to WebLogic, he was the president and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation's Commercial Software Business Unit, Formtek, from 1990 to 1997. At Formtek, a Carnegie-Mellon spin-off in 1983, which was acquired by Lockheed in 1989, Mr. Kutay served in various roles including as president and CEO from 1985 to 1989. Mr. Kutay holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Engineering from Middle East Technical University and has completed graduate work at Carnegie Mellon University. His graduate and thesis work at Carnegie Mellon was the foundation for Formtek.
