Short Takes
Following release of Version 7 of its global data synchronization technology software, GoldenGate is readying a beta test for an Oracle RAC version of the software. "We continue to make enhancements to extend our capabilities to new platforms," Ramon Chen, senior director of product management, told 5 Minute Briefing. Earlier, Chen said, the company added MySQL to the roster of data sources it supports.
... GoldenGate Global Data Synchronization platform is a comprehensive solution for ensuring business continuity and high-volume data integration across the enterprise. It employs a unique change data capture technology that provides sub-second capture, transformation and delivery of large volumes of information across heterogeneous systems. The software facilitates data movement, transformation, migration and replication for a broad range of applications including data warehousing, business activity monitoring, disaster recovery, application integration, and business continuity.
... According to Chen, the company has also begun to aggressive expand the scope of its sales effort. With roots in the HP non-stop computing environment, the company also generally offered its products via channel partners. Now, according to Chen, the company is building its own sales team. "At the end of last year, the company started to develop their own direct sales force and marketing capabilities and started to also aggressively target open systems environments," he said.
